I have been very impressed with the entire Michelson community, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach at Michelson Elementary School. I began my career teaching 6th grade at Columbia Elementary School for six years, where I coached basketball and cross country. I most recently taught 4th and 5th grade in Cupertino, CA for 2 years while my wife earned her masters degree. I plan to employ my eight years of teaching experience to create engaging learning experiences for my students. I set high expectations for all of my students and will challenge them through project-based-learning (PBL). PBL allows students to think critically and work collaboratively to solve a real-world problem so that they may be better prepared for the rigors of college and career. Over the course of our studies, I will nurture creativity, organization, tenacity, kindness, and hard work in my students.

I earned my multiple subjects teaching credential at C.S.U., East Bay, and my undergraduate degree at Georgetown University, where I was a Division 1 All-American distance runner. I also hold an administrative credential and a single subject science credential.

I grew up in San Luis Obispo, CA, where I was a CIF and state champion in both track and cross country. I am married to a Calaveras local named Colleen. We live in Angels Camp with our dog, Boston. We like to spend our time hiking, skiing, and fishing at our favorite local spots.
