Mystery Food (Try something new!)
Our food service manager, Chef Jules, has partnered with Safeway this year to receive exotic and less common fruits and vegetables that can be sampled by students on Mystery Food Monday. The students not only get the opportunity to taste new fruits and vegetables, they also learn about what region and climate they grow in, and what they look like on the tree, plant, or vine. By having the chance to try new foods, students can develop a mature palate and hopefully expand the foods they like to eat, according to Chef Jules. Some food experienced this year includes gjetost (sweet cheese), and rambutan (fuzzy fruit).
