Dear Michelson Community,
I have bittersweet news to share... I wanted to let you know that I have accepted the Superintendent position at Anderson Valley Unified. This will be a new and challenging adventure for me, as I work with a great team on a K-12 District. My new position is effective July 1. While I am excited about this new adventure, I am truly sad to think of leaving you and your kids, but I know they will be in very capable hands with the staff that cares so passionately for kids to achieve academic excellence and be good and kind people.
I wanted to thank you all for the amazing four years at VUSD. You embraced me at a hard time after Bob had died and helped me find a new passion in life. I will be forever grateful to the staff for their fearless drive and utter belief that all students can succeed. Likewise, I have never met a parent and guardian community that partnered together so completely to ensure all kids had a great school experience. It has been truly a one-of-a-kind relationship to have a community that so clearly puts kids first.
I have learned so much, from so many, and thank Jim Frost and the Board for the mentorship and opportunities that were given to me. Likewise, I thank our union partners for showing me the way that collaboration and conversation always produce the best outcomes for staff and kids alike, and to Judy Bergantz for being the best partner an administrator could ask for.
While it will be hard to move on in June, please know I will never forget you and your kids. It has been an honor to work with you.
